yog session at work

The Yog session is still ongoing at the office. It's still every Tuesday and Thursday, at 8am-9am. So far Pankaj has been present for every session. Actually, he asked if we can be earlier for our session. So next week, we'll start at 7:30am-8:30am. This way we havesome more time to rest to get ready for work.

I've added a few warm-up stretching exercises in the beginning, taken from my martial arts practice, so to loosen-up. I've noticed that Pankaj is very stiff everywhere. His back especially starts hurting for a short time doing the cross-legged position. So he seems to like the warm-ups. But he still has a long way to go. And so do I, of course. Last Thursday, I showed him the king & queen asan. He seems to like all 3 variations. It seems that I'm getting positive responses from Pankaj and Murthy when they talk to other people at the office about the Yog sessions. But Murthy so far has not attended. There's probably a time conflict between his wife and him, with sharing their one car, but this is just my guess.

Also, every Sunday, Rashmi will host the Yog session in the morning, at their place. So this will be ongoing. Last Sunday I wasn't able to participate because we went to visit my parents and we stayed at their place overnight. They missed their grand-daughter a lot.

Besides the work Yog sessions, I've been practicing it every morning at home. I've noticed that my face slimmed down. My cheeks are not as chubby as last January. Even Marissa, my wife, noticed the difference.

This morning I was talking to Govind, and he had a question about doing the kapal-bhahati. He practices at home mostly. He mentioned that after 40 counts, he started gasping for air. So he stops and rests. I told him to take it easy, because his body is not used to the routine yet.

first yog session at work

My first lead Yog session at work started today.

There were 2 people that came to the session: Pankaj and Hari. We

started at 8:20am, and ended at 9am. During the session, we covered
the first part of Gayatri Mantra, 3 minutes of Bastrika, 3 minutes of
Kapalbahati, 3 counts of Vahya, 3 minutes of Anolom Vilom, 3 counts of
Bhramari and 3 counts of Udgeeth.

I tried to relax as much as I can, but since it was my first time

leading the group, I was a little nervous.

All in all, I think the first session went well. I'll start early next

time, at 8am., so we can cover more grounds. The foundation is not
there yet, participants seem to have an idea of how to do the
Pranayams but lack in many details, which will eventually come in
time.

Also, last Saturday, I started teaching Marissa, my wife, the

Pranayams. She has a couple of questions:
1. Why can't we do the Pranayams laying down, with your back on the floor?
2. In one of the minor exercises, when rubbing both hands together,
why do we have to raise our hands above our head?
